Goin' Mobile's focus is on helping independent Music Groups record their Live performances for CD release. Our Mobile Recording Truck, a "Recording Studio on Wheels" allow us to do this. Based in Boston, the truck has traveled extensively, including: NY, NJ, FL, MS, OH, IN, PA, KY, DC, MD, NH, ME, CT, RI, NC, VA. It's worked on busy New York City streets & sidewalks, on freight elevators, even prison. Really (as a visitor!). If you're looking to do a Professional Live Concert Recording of a musical group, then you need a mobile recording truck, even if you don't choose Goin' Mobile. Beware of anyone who plans on taking a "feed" off the PA board. There are a variety of technical reasons why this doesn't work well (click here for some), but your recording will probably sound awful. A recording you can't use is no bargain at all.

Some people hire the truck to host regular recording or overdubbing sessions in their home, rehearsal space, or other funky space they like. Gospel sessions like to "stack" or "double track" the choir by overdubbing additional parts to help strength the choir's sound, and the truck can accomodate their needs at their own church instead of a sterile studio. Most people ignore the last part of that saying. It's not meant to be a compliment. Goin' Mobile doesn't rent PA systems, shoot video, design band websites or run a regular fixed recording studio.

Can they really achieve excellence in all of them?

Not at all. What you'll get is a mediocre recording by a mediocre engineer who doesn't know a thing about recording on-location...and I've seen plenty of them crack under the pressure of a live recording where failure is NOT an option.
